Homemade Spaghetti meat sauce recipe. Serves 3 or 4. Quick and easy but tastes great. Double the recipe for more.
Ingredients:
28 oz can of crushed tomatoes- Many say use Cento brand.
½ lb of hamburger meat
½ of a whole onion diced
½ teaspoon of Oregano seasoning
½ teaspoon of Basil seasoning
½ teaspoon of Black Pepper—ground if possible
½ teaspoon of Salt-sea salt if possible
¼ teaspoon of Garlic Salt seasoning-or use fresh garlic.
2 large tablespoons of Sugar
4 Bay Leaves
Spaghetti noodles-thin or medium—whatever suits you.
Optional to suit your flavor-You can also add mushrooms
Optional to suit your flavor-You can also add diced bell pepper
Optional add one small can of tomato paste to make it thicker
Optional add one small can of tomato sauce to make it thinner
Directions:
Place a little olive oil in the bottom of a pan and cook onions until they start to get soft (same if you are adding bell pepper or mushrooms)
Add hamburger meat. Stir until meat is browned. You can drain hamburger grease or leave it for flavor—your choice.
Add the 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes and all of the ingredients named above— except for the noodles–stir well.
Bring to a boil then quickly reduce to a simmer for about 30 minutes to one hour.
Meanwhile with about 10 minutes to go—cook your spaghetti, drain and serve with the meat sauce.
