My favorite Mexican Margarita using fresh limes:
This is the basic recipe and it is VERY good and refreshing.
Juice of two fresh limes (2 oz)
Simple Syrup (2 oz)
Don Julio Blanco Tequila (2 oz) –this is really good stuff–Dont use the cheap tequila.
Pour over crushed ice, mix well and serve.
The recipe above is a great starting point. I prefer less sweet margaritas. As a result
I use the same recipe above but modify it to only 1 oz of simple syrup
and 1 oz of tequila, but still use the juice of two limes. A great and refreshing drink.
Modify to suit your personal taste.
How do you make simple syrup you ask? Mix one part of water with one part of sugar.
Heat it in a pan until the sugar dissolves. Simple!! thus the name.
