Ingredients: | 1) One 6 oz. can of the best crab meat you can find. (fancy white meat) 2) One 8 oz.stick of cream cheese 3) One bottle of Publix brand cocktail sauce. (Or make your own). 4) Ritz Crackers. |
Directions: | Leave the cream cheese out to soften. Open the can of crab meat and squeeze every bit of moisture out of it that is humanly possible. With a fork, take the crab meat out and flake it over the cream cheese, spreading it loosely. Softly and slowly pour the cocktail sauce over the crab meat and cream cheese. Place the Ritz crackers in a circle around the outside of the plate and serve as a snack. |
Notes: | To make your own cocktail sauce pour some ketchup in a bowl. Add prepared horseradish, (the stringy type, not the creamy stuff) until it gives you the kick you want, then a little dab or two of hot sauce. Some even add a few drops of worcestershire sauce. I usually do about a cup and 1/2 of ketchup, about a spoonful or horseradish, a teaspoon of crystal hot sauce and sometimes add a few drops of worcestershire sauce, other times I leave it out. |
